The MultiCharger range offers a choice of 3 USB charging profiles and can charge up to 16 devices simultaneously in a compact and independently safety-tested package.
The MultiCharger range consists of three compact units designed to allow a user to charge up to 16x USB devices efficiently and safely. All MultiCharger units share the same form-factor and mounting flanges.
The MC14-2.4 is a charger which offers 14x USB ports each pre-configured with the Apple 2.4Amp iOS device charging profile. Each port is the equivalent of a 12W Apple Charger.
The MC16-2.1 is a charger which offers 16x USB ports each pre-configured with the Apple 2.1Amp iOS device charging profile. Each port is the equivalent of a 10W Apple Charger.
The MC16-1.5 is a charger which offers 16x USB ports each pre-configured with a widely accepted charging profile accepted by many mobile and small tablet devices. This charging profile is commonly called BC1.2. Do note that this profile is relatively low current (1.5Amp) and as a result isn’t recommended for large tablet devices such as the Apple iPad and iPad Pro.
Internally, the MultiCharger range has an incredibly efficient power supply architecture designed to operate with minimal heat dissipation continuously for many years. To further increase the lifespan of the MultiCharger, there is a forced-cooling fan built into the unit which is temperature controlled and will only operate when required. The fan may operate when the MultiCharger is operated within a high ambient temperature or if all ports are charging at their maximum designed current capacity.
The MultiCharger range is shipped with a worldwide input range 180W PSU which is rated such that it is not operated close to its limits and doesn’t generate significant heat. High temperatures in both the product and the power supply contribute largely to product lifespan, Cambrionix has minimised the thermal dissipation in the power supply and the product such that product lifespan is extended significantly.
The MultiCharger products are designed to cover the standard requirements for charging and as a result do not require firmware to maintain charging profiles or offer advanced control and monitoring features (such as those found on other Cambrionix products). The advantage to this is that you can offer basic but incredibly robust and reliable charging facilities simply and effectively.
